Karwemera United Women Association (KUWA)

KUWA started in 2004 under the guidance of women and gender section of the diocese of Kasese. It was started to promote human rights, psychosocial support and the economic status of the association and the community members. Our principle programs include environment conservation and sustainable agriculture, education promotion, gender and development, human rights, health and hygiene.

The services provided are promotion of knitting and tailoring, beekeeping , psycho social support through music dance and drama, mushroom farming, hygiene awareness, savings and internal lending promotion, Mushroom farming, , Tree nursery, Promoting Agroforestry, protecting riparian zones and Bamboo planting in riparian zones,promoting the use of 7.1% chlorohexadine degluconate for umbilical cord care, prevention of hepatitis B Mother to Child transmission, provision of solar lights to enable children read books at night and going green project.
